Exploring SSAS data folder – by Vidas Matelis
In this presentation you will review how SSAS stores MOLAP data in database folder. We will review database folder structure and different file types that are created by SSAS. Then we will use that information to review how to:
- Identify time when cube/measure group/dimension was processed
- Calculate size of the cube/measure group/partition/dimension and attribute
- Calculate size of the indexes, aggregations and size of data in cubes and dimensions
- How to identify if your aggregations and indexes where dropped after updating attribute value in flexible relationship.
- How to identify if partition that does not have slicer specified contains just data that you were expecting to be there.
